While OMB's Cloud First initiative mandated Federal agencies to move to the cloud, the procurement realities are complex. On Wednesday, March 11, the GovMark Council and the MeriTalk Cloud Computing Exchange co-hosted a discussion on Cloud Acquisition – How to Buy Cloud.
Attendees heard from Greg Capella, Executive Director for Enterprise System Development Office, Department of Homeland Security, and Stan Kaczmarczyk, Director of the ITS Cloud Computing Project Management Office, General Services Administration. Throughout the program, attendees addressed the challenges of cloud acquisition – and exchanged best practices for buying – and selling – cloud services with their government customers.
Of course, it wouldn't be a GovMark program without a little fun. Attendees enjoyed networking with their government and industry peers throughout the day.
